New Sweater

catwoman_sweater_sm.jpgI am working on refreshing my basic knitting skills in preparation to attend Stitches Midwest in August. I found this simple knit sweater pattern in the store and thought it was so pretty. It is made with Glitterspun yarn – a soft metallic yarn. I only hope it will fit me when it is finished!. I know how important it is to check your gauge but who likes to do that?! I have the back of the sweater done and I did measure it against another of my store-bought sweaters… does that count for checking gauge? I guess there’s always the option of gaining or losing weight to make it fit – having to gain weight would be more fun…I might need some help when it comes time to do the collar – I’m getting ready to start the front now. I’ll let you know how it progresses.

  1. I don’t think you need any refreshers! That’s beautiful! Is the front a straight stockinette stitch also or does it have a pattern or cable of some kind? I love the yarn!

  2. It is a straight stockinette stitch, but it is not so easy to tell in this photo. I have a pattern for a scarf with a cable pattern to it that I started to try, then I got to something like Row 8 and couldn’t find or didn’t understand the instructions for that row. I need to work on learning how to read those knitting instructions. Crochet instructions, as you know, are a cinch for me though! I’ve also seen this yarn in silver and black.
