Sorry I haven’t posted this sooner. I kept forgetting to take my camera to work, where I am primarily working on this baby sweater for a friend’s impending 2nd baby. This is the pattern:
You can see how many color changes there are — eight. You change color every eight rows, and the joining row is seed stitch. It’s lovely. And surprisingly easy to do. I had never started a sweater from the neck down, always from the bottom up. So this was a big change for me. You also knit it upside down! So the neck stays at the bottom of your work. And you knit DOWN the sweater while you are knitting UP. If that makes any sense at all. When you get to a certain point, you tie off the arms, and you come back to them later. It’s really quite fun. This is Vanna White yarn. She is an avid crocheter. The yarn is a very nice worsted weight, very easy to work with. It didn’t come in as many color changes as the pattern called for, so I’m just doing four color changes, and having 2 sections of each. This will be good hopefully if it’s either a boy or a girl. I talked to a few mothers of sons, and they all said they wouldn’t have a problem putting this on a boy. So we’ll see. You can see my needles at the bottom of the front sweater photo. That may explain the Up and Down comment a little more.
